VINYL CUTTING + HEAT PRESS

A tshirt printing type that uses a vinyl cutting machine to shape and design unique clothing. The shapes are then placed on a T-shirt using the heat press method. It has the advantage of being compatible with different types of cloth materials. Vinyl cutting is ideal for a business that deals with printing small graphics. Although durable and easy to apply, it is not suitable for large orders; and on materials that are sensitive to high heat levels.

Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. The main advantage of Screen Printing is the unique visual result it creates. The inks used are very durable, the colours are extremely vivid, particularly for outdoor uses, making this a unique reproduction technique. One of the main disadvantages of screen printing is that it has a much higher initial setup cost than digital printing and takes more time.

DIGITAL PRINTING + HEAT PRESS

Digital printing is a much newer process of tshirt printing that involves your artwork being processed by a computer, and then printed directly onto the surface of your product. Digital printing is not a transfer – the ink is directly adhered to the fabric of your shirt. Digital printing is best used for items that require high amounts of detail, and orders of a smaller quantity.

DARK TRANSFER

Dark Transfer is best for dark-colored fabric/shirt and has an outline same with the color of the fabric/shirt. On the other hand, when using a dark transfer paper, the image is now printed on the positive side, simply put; you print your image like you would normally do. After having printed the image, the coating that comes with the paper will be peeled off and is placed directly on the surface where you want it imprinted, your design should be facing you, as you set it on your heat press, with the parchment paper sheet over it.

LIGHT TRANSFER

Light transfer is basically used for light colored shirts, mainly white ones, or surfaces with light or pale colors. With light transfer papers you print the image, in reverse or mirrored, then put the printed side on your shirt, with your image facing down directly onto it and the back part of the backing sheet is facing your direction. After having positioned, it you then apply pressure through your heat press. After is cools down, you carefully remove the backing sheet and now you have your image imprinted on your shirt.

SUBLIMATION

Sublimation printing is an offshoot of digital printing that deals with polyester and substance which are coated with polymer. Sublimation in tshirt printing uses sublimation inks to be applied on the surface you want, and then uses a heat press to transfer the design. When the ink turns in to gas, it will be able to penetrate the surface and thus being imprinted permanently on it, resulting to having colorful, detailed designs that is long lasting and resistant to damages like scratching, which is a plus, compared to other printing methods in which the design just sits on top of the surface.
